About Me

My photo
I have been married to my husband for 19 years, and have 2 wonderful daughters, 16 and 15. I love being a wife and mother. I have recently discovered that I love to quilt. I especially love that it is MY thing in this house of mine. My family members have NO desire to take up my new found hobby and join along with me.

Promise I Promise

I still remember that I have a blog and my "promise" or word to post my quilts. I just have suddenly found myself with no time to actually put that into action.

I have completed three quilts.. NO, not created but completed.

Quilt number one-- needed binding.
Quilt number two-- needed quilting to be finished and binding.
Quilt number three-- well, that was done a long time ago and I'm not sure I want to display it.
The quilting is not so good and I actually picked out some of the stitching hoping I would re-quilt it.
It was before I knew you shouldn't shove and push your quilts through AND to be sure the tension was correctly set.  So, the quilt has those long threads that appear as if they are just laying accross the top of the quilt-- if you know what  I mean. Quilt three also has different colors of thread in the quilt top because I was trying to convey a message. What a funny thing to do with your first quilt, you would think I would stick with just getting the quilt together, but oh no, my mind wants to make it more intriquing than that.  I'm not going to tell you the message I wanted to convey because I still like the idea and I'm determined to get it done at some point.

So I will post them with in a couple of days.  Keep in mind: I have basically taught myself to quilt and sew, but for the 6 week lesson by my dear friend Shirley many years ago. So-- really not so bad.

Gotta tell you my dear husband asked why I spend so much time sewing, cutting, and ironing but he is not seeing any results.  Sigh---- who wants to tell him that a quilter has many projects going at once?

Off to take my daughter to visit a couple prospective colleges.

Be Well

Pardon the loose threads. I guess there are certain things you don't see until you get them into a frozen moment. I will do a better job at clipping for posting. Maybe even take better pictures.
